You read some very interesting books, thanks for sharing them. Regarding N. Korea nuclear tests, I wouldn't say they are 'illicit'. They are a necessary part of developing a nuclear arsenal, and similar tests were conducted by all the extant nuclear powers. Cheers.
That's a good point! Illicit was probably the wrong word choice there. It's more they do their tests in secrecy so it's difficult to ascertain what they're developing and how far along they are.
